Practice Greenhealth is the nation's leading membership and networking organization for health care institutions that have made a commitment to sustainable, environmentally preferable practices. There are more than 1,200 members including hospitals and health care systems, health care providers, manufacturers and service providers, architectural, engineering and design firms, group purchasing organizations (GPOs) and affiliated non-profits.
Part of Practice Greenhealth’s mission is to encourage market leaders in health care sustainability, and this includes presenting numerous awards to individual healthcare facilities, health care systems and health care-related businesses that achieve distinction in a number of areas.
UCLA Health has been the recipient of the Practice Greenhealth Partner for Change Award since 2010. In 2012, UCLA Health was presented with the Healthy Food in Health Care Food-Climate-Health Connection Award and in 2013, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Medical Center-Santa Monica were honored with the Making Medicine Mercury-Free award. In May 2015, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center received with the Circles of Excellence - Food award, one of Practice Greenhealth's newest honors.
